Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10) released the following statement Tuesday on building conservative support for his campaign after a pair of major endorsements. McHenry was endorsed by President Donald Trump on Friday and announced the endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA) on Tuesday.
“I am honored and grateful to have the support of President Trump and the NRA and look forward to continuing to fight alongside our president to cut taxes, create jobs, build the wall, protect the Second Amendment and deliver conservative results for hardworking North Carolina families,” McHenry said. “President Trump and I are committed to keeping America great and preventing Democratic elites from destroying our economy with their radical, socialist agenda.”
President Trump endorsed McHenry in a Tweet sent on Friday.
“The Greatest name in politics,” Patrick @McHenryCampaign from the Great State of North Carolina, is a Conservative Fighter and a true Leader who ALWAYS supports our #MAGA Agenda. Patrick has my Complete and Total Endorsement! https://t.co/t1ciRWONff

In addition to President Trump and the NRA, McHenry has been endorsed by fellow North Carolina conservative leader Congresswoman Virginia Foxx.
The Republican primary election for the 10th congressional district is on March 3.
