Patrick is a proud defender of victims of crimes, and believes we must strengthen protections for the victims of domestic violence, in particular. He was one of only a few Republicans to vote for the Violence Against Women Act, which provided tougher penalties for abusers and new protections for the victims.
He organized a conference for sheriffs and local law enforcement across the Tenth District, along with the federal Drug Enforcement Agency and State Bureau of Investigation to indentify solutions that address the scourge of methamphetamine in our region. He has cosponsored many pieces of legislation to give law enforcement more resources to fight meth production and trafficking.
Patrick supports the death penalty.
