Patrick believes strongly that the government should – and must – balance its budget.  He has voted for a balanced budget every year in Congress, and supported numerous pieces of legislation that would force the country to live within its means.

The debt and deficit are quality of life issues, not just for us, but for our children and grandchildren.  Unless we can learn to live within our means, future generations will not have the opportunities that we have enjoyed.

Despite a hostile President and Senate, in the last two years, Patrick and Republicans in the House have actually decreased spending for two years in a row – the first time that has happened since the Korean War.  We are still in a fiscal crisis, but Patrick is going to keep fighting to get Washington’s spending under control.
