Congressman Patrick McHenry Receives Asheville Citizen-Times Endorsement
The Asheville Citizen-Times says, “McHenry deserves another term.”
On Wednesday, Congressman Patrick McHenry (R, NC-10) received the endorsement from the Asheville Citizen-Times, in recognition of his support of the Asheville business industry.
“Asheville and counties to the southeast are represented by U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry, a six-term incumbent from Cherryville. Like Burr and Meadows, McHenry is a conservative Republican.”
“He [McHenry] was the prime supporter of successful legislation to legalize crowdfunding, the practice of raising equity capital in numbers of small donations, often using the Internet. He said he was inspired by the difficulty his father had raising capital for a small business. He’s quietly worked on legislation beneficial to Asheville’s booming craft beer industry.”
Congressman McHenry recognizes that small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, creating more than 70% of all new jobs in the United States. Prior to serving in Congress, Patrick McHenry was a small businessman. He understands the issues that affect the success or failure of these ventures. In the 114th Congress, he introduced HR 1839 – the Reforming Access for Investments in Startup Enterprises Act of 2015.
The Asheville Citizen-Times goes on to state that “McHenry deserves another term.”
